Professional liability insurance:
Professional liability insurace is held with ERGO Versicherung AG, Victoriaplatz 1, 40477 Düsseldorf, Germany in accordance with the requirements of the applicable professional rules and regulation. Pursuant to the special terms and conditions for attorneys-at-law and patent attorneys (Besondere Bedingungen für Rechtsanwälte und Patentanwälte), claims for professional liability arising (i) in the context of advice on non-European laws or (ii) acts of the Rechtsanwalt before non-European courts are not covered by insurance protection.
Mediation proceedings:
In the case of disputes between attorneys and their clients, upon request, mediation proceedings may be initiated before the Hanseatic Bar Association Hamburg (Hanseatische Rechtsanwaltskammer Hamburg) (pursuant to Section 73 paragraph 2 subparagraph 3 in conjunction with Section 73 paragraph 5 BRAO) or before the Attorneys’ Arbitration Board (Article 191f BRAO) on the German Federal Bar Association, to be found at the internet website of German the Federal Bar Association (www.brak.de), email: schlichtungsstelle@brak.de.
